Marike: “Are you a “cold person” or a “whistle pot”?”

Couple…

You've finally been able to choose from Tantilly's amazing collection, but there's still a slight doubt…

The print and the colours are totally you, you've seen it on different models, and this one REALLY has your name on it! but... you're wondering (rightly): how does this fabric feel?

Warm, cold, breathable, flexible or stiff, should I iron or not? Especially for all the ice cubes, hot air balloons and everything in between, I thought it would be fun to write something about it.

In this blog I will tell you about the properties of fabrics!

Let's start with an ideal fabric that gives a natural feel, absorbs moisture quickly and still has a soft structure: COTTON!

Cotton is breathable and easy to maintain.

This fabric is super strong and durable. That means you will enjoy it for a very long time. What is also very nice about cotton is that it feels warm in the winter and fresh in the summer, so your cotton purchase is a real "four seasons" item! Personally, I also like the idea that only 10% of the raw weight is lost during processing, yay!

In short, a fabric made of 100% cotton is a great friend to everyone that fits you perfectly, just like your jeans used to when they didn't have any stretch in them.

That feeling! What you have to consider when you go for a cotton item is that it can shrink a little and get a little wrinkly in the wash, and the fabric doesn't stretch.

It is beautiful, emphasizes the feminine shapes beautifully and is wonderfully light…. I am talking about: VISCOSE. In this picture Clasien is wearing a beautiful “Twisted stretch top” made of viscose, with a lovely floral print.

Because the fabric is extremely stretchy, it is so perfect for this style!

Tantilly's fine leggings are also made of soft viscose for this reason. Viscose falls under the so-called "semi-synthetic" fabrics and this breathes very well.

Viscose also absorbs moisture well and remains airy at warm temperatures.

In addition, viscose is also dimensionally stable, wrinkle-free and retains its colour well!

Look at our Monique shining in this picture, in the amazing Sofia Trumpet Dress. This one is also made of beautiful viscose.

You can see right away that this fabric has a very luxurious look. You can look great on any occasion with this, right?

This super handy fabric has increased enormously in popularity in recent years, I'm talking about: TRAVEL FABRIC.

If, like the lady in this photo, you don't have a very close bond with your iron and if something sometimes doesn't quite go right during washing, then travel fabric is made for you!

The name says it all, there is no wrinkle in this, you can just let it lie around, put all sorts of things on top of it and stuff it in your suitcase. Super handy for the creative messy ones among us!

This fabric dries super quickly, does not fluff or pill at all and is light to wear.

The quality of travel fabric is very high and it is also super comfortable, stretchy and breathable.

In the picture I am wearing the New Lilou Dress, which is made of a slightly thicker and good quality travel fabric. The popular Belize pants are also made of this this year.

Our model Hilde is wearing here a lovely warm Noa Nova vest with a top and a skirt, but I would like to talk about the vest that is made of a nice mix of 70% acrylic and 30% polyamide. In addition to the Noa Nova vest (long version), the Tantaya vest (short version) is also made of this.

Synthetic fibers used to have a less positive image because they were supposedly rough and unmanageable, but this is no longer the case! The fine, comfortable vests from Tantilly have proven the opposite for a long time! Acrylic is not a temperature-regulating material, which makes it extremely suitable for vests. Aha!

Vest loose-close-on-off cases will also be very happy with this. An additional advantage of this mix is that the color does not fade and that your vest will keep its shape nicely. This fabric is also very suitable for people with allergies because it does not contain lanolin.

Margriet looks beautiful here in a super comfortable dress made of TANTILLY'S WARM WINTER FABRIC.

This is a lovely warm and stretchy fabric that does not feel smooth, but soft. This fabric falls beautifully smoothly and is also very shape-retaining.

The colours do not fade and the print remains beautiful. The fabric also dries very quickly.

There are now quite a few models of Tantilly dresses in the collection of this unique fabric, such as; the Zoe Dress, Maddie Dress (see photo) Peggy Dress, Karen Dress and also the Priscilla Sweater is made of this comfortable fabric. A real recommendation for the cold ones among us and can be combined well with a warm cardigan and a (thermal) shirt with long sleeves can also be worn underneath.

Been there, done that! You can easily wear one or two leggings on top of each other. And a pair of warm, sturdy boots underneath and you're done!

Deliciously soft with a super-deluxe look: RAYON

The beautiful double-sided scarf that Ivana is wearing in this photo is made of rayon. This is a super smooth fabric that still feels very nice.

Rayon is also called artificial silk and is a semi-artificial fabric with a natural base.

The fabric is extremely popular because of its airy and supple properties.

So you can drape it beautifully, which makes it extremely suitable for a scarf! Tadaa!! The fabric also does not feel heavy around your neck, which is also very nice.

A stretchy fabric, unlike cotton, which therefore falls perfectly: STRETCH COTTON.

Our Amber shows a super cool Lilou Shirt made of stretch cotton. The advantage of this fabric is that it can stretch under tension, but still retains its original fit.

And I can talk about this because I was there when this photo was taken. (in the same shirt, a size too small) So you don't see anything, haha!

This makes the fabric very suitable for fitted garments and this fabric is also very comfortable and non-iron!

This just goes to show that the fabrics at Tantilly are not only beautiful, but also of good quality and that owner Chantal, during her design process, pays close attention to which fabric best suits which garment! A few more tips if you want to enjoy these beautiful fabrics for a long time:

*wash at low temperatures and not more often than necessary (airing is also possible)

*never wash your Tantilly's together with jeans

*hang your clothes out on a hanger immediately after washing

*use a laundry bag for delicate, fragile fabrics
