Hey dear reader! Yes! here I am again, this time with a blog about fun, laughter and pleasure.

 
 
 

You may have read my previous blogs. What it is really about is that Tantilly mainly stands for fun, colorful clothing, focused on fair fashion and various sizes. Because yes, every woman should feel good, right? Exactly, I completely agree with that.

 

This time we are going to talk about fun and moments of happiness. You can experience these at any time of the day. Great feeling, right?

 

As soon as we, dear people, have fun, all kinds of happiness hormones are released. A short biology lesson, these substances are called endorphins, dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin. All these substances ensure that we experience happiness and endorphins can even work as a natural painkiller. Quite interesting. Now the question, how do we generate these substances? Let's go!

 

To play sports

Sports? Did you read that right? Yes!

Sports make us feel good.

 

You don't have to work yourself into a sweat, if you exercise moderately for 2.5 hours a week it seems to be good for your body and mind. Put on your walking shoes and go for a walk in the forest.

 

Don't feel like exercising for 2.5 hours a week or don't have time for it?

After half an hour this hormone is produced again, so don't be too hard on yourself.

 

Find something that suits you and you'll be able to keep it up for much longer :)

 
 
 

MEDITATE

Remember when I talked about the painkilling version of the substances? Right.

With meditation you create these, just like with exercise.

 

Choose a pleasant moment for yourself, preferably in the morning or afternoon. Choose a nice pose, most people sit cross-legged. Is that a bit uncomfortable? Sit comfortably on a cushion or a soft block.

 

Meditation requires some time but it really does help. It reduces stress and anxiety, gives you the feeling that you have more time, setbacks feel less heavy and you feel happier. There are many more benefits to be found.

LAUGH

Hahaha...

 

When we laugh, our brain produces the happiness hormone. Who doesn't feel better after a good laugh or a funny joke?

 

Did you know that there are also laughter therapies? that make people happier in life.

 

So find people with the same sense of humor, laugh about a mistake or laugh with people. Fun guaranteed!

 

GOOD FOOD

 

Healthy eating is of course always important. By eating well and varied you get enough energy and it can even reduce the chance of depression. Eating healthy fats such as nuts and fish is very good for you. Don't forget the carbohydrates either, it is best if 50-55% of your meal consists of carbohydrates. Don't forget vegetables and fruit either. Oranges and bananas also contain the happiness hormone, just like dark chocolate! Yummy...

 
 
 
 

ACHIEVING GOALS

 

Life is a journey, full of bumps and lumps. Good and bad moments.

 

However, it is true that when you achieve a goal for yourself, you activate the happiness hormone again. You experience satisfaction and are proud of yourself!

 
 

If you achieve a long-term goal of 5 or 10 years, you will experience the feeling of being meaningfully occupied. This feeling is stronger than the short-term goals.

 

Please note dear lady or gentleman, this is a matter of trial and error, but you can be even more proud of yourself! Changed your goal in the meantime? No problem, that's human.

 

SOCIAL INTERACTION

 

Humans are the most social creatures on our precious planet. Contact with other people is good for both our physical and emotional health.

 

We as humans need contact and connections with other people, did you know that this also allows us to live longer? special huh.. ;)

 

As humans, we get most of our happiness from social interaction: friends. Friends make us feel good. The more often we see our friends and family, the happier we become. It is not only about the quantity, but also about the quality of the conversations. Are they nice, good conversations that give you energy? Then definitely keep doing this! You get energy and happiness from it.

 

Not that many friends or contacts? Research shows that it can also be very good for you if you find a leisure activity where you get to know people. Think of a sports club, choir, church or a nice dance group. Everything is possible and the nice thing about it is that you will get to know like-minded people.

 

In the long term, this will help to combat the risk of depression, early risk of Alzheimer's and poor resistance.

 

So, are you tired one time, or don't feel like meeting up with your boyfriend or girlfriend that one time? I say go, enjoy and have fun. You will leave with lots of energy and a general feeling of happiness!
