Verder winkelenAbout 2.5 years ago I walked into the cozy shop of Tantilly for the first time. I walked with a friend through the cozy city center of Deventer and my eye fell on a nice shop with a lot of color: Tantilly.

Attracted by the cheerful display I quickly stepped inside, a world full of colour and beautiful stories was what I found there.
Because not only does Tantilly make really nice original clothes in a lot of beautiful prints and colors, it is also a fair brand. That is right up my street!
Over the past few years I have increasingly delved into how we as humans deal with the world, animals and our fellow human beings. In a beautiful word also called stewardship.
After reading and watching a lot (for example: the documentary series Genaaid on NPO3) I decided that I really wanted to do things differently in certain areas.
A journey through consuming less, minimalism, veganism, fair trade and so much more was the result. Searching for alternatives to fast fashion, more plant-based food and a growing love for all kinds of green initiatives and companies. In the middle of this journey I walked into Tantilly and what a joy it made me!
A Dutch brand that not only takes loving care of its customers but also of the entire production chain.
Anyone who has ever ordered something has probably found a nice surprise in her package. A beautiful book with a cover made of leftover fabrics, a beautiful flower belt, nice socks and so on. Shopping at Tantilly is always a party!
But, that may be the case with many well-known brands. However, it is often not a party for the people who make our clothes and stuff. Working in bad conditions and/or for a very small amount of money is the order of the day in the fashion industry.
And that's why I love Tantilly so much. Because they take care of their makers.
They look for people they can help by teaching them the necessary skills.
Tantilly did not stop her orders when the whole world was in the grip of Corona (which many big brands did!). All makers are known and are visited regularly. They receive a fair wage and can therefore provide for themselves and their families. How nice is that?!
We can walk around in lovely clothes and know that our purchase helps people to a better life.
That gives such a cheerful piece of clothing so much extra cheerfulness!
Green greetings,
Marion
