A beautiful and moving fitting session

This beautiful day keeps going through my mind. That's why I want to share it with you. Sunday December 11th I would be a substitute model at the live fitting. Usually my husband comes along, but he couldn't this time.

My dear friend offered to come along. We would go by train. I haven't been on a train in 25 years so all in all quite exciting.

There was also the Dickens festival that weekend, so we walked past barriers towards Tantilly.

When we walk down the street where Tantilly is, we see a lady walking in front of us with a walker and I immediately see that she is wearing a Tantilly outfit and I call out to her: a Tantilly fan.

She turns around and laughs, yes, will you join the fitting session, the ice is broken immediately. Laughing, we hold the door open for her so she can calmly walk in.

After we all said hello and introduced ourselves to each other and hugged, Mieke indicates that she cannot get changed that quickly and she is immediately reassured by Clasien, Tessa, my girlfriend and me.

Tessa is going to help her. And Mieke is lucky, the leggings she is wearing match all the sets, so they can stay on nicely. In the meantime, my girlfriend takes some pictures of Mieke and me of the sets that we will show later.

During the fitting session it was as if they had been doing it for years and when Tessa couldn't make it, my friend Mieke helped. No shame at all. How this touched me. How beautiful and honest this went and how smoothly the fitting session went. With a beautiful collaboration from everyone.

And as anyone who has ever helped with a fitting session knows, it is quite a push to be ready with the next outfit in time. Just like a heavy sports training. After the fitting session, relax and have a delicious lunch. Then try on some things yourself. Take some pictures for the site. And then Cassandra comes by with her husband. Just a few more pictures and then a group photo!

Respect for Mieke that she participated in the fitting session and that it is possible! And what Mieke notes when I ask her for permission to write this, "I may be a bit limited, but I don't feel limited!"

How beautiful to see again now, that Tantilly is really there for everyone, it doesn't matter what you look like or if you are not so fast or have a disability. Everyone is important and belongs.

For me, once again, a confirmation of what wonderful, warm people there are at Tantilly.

For me, a day that really touched me and which I look back on with very warm and beautiful memories.

Love Simone
