The Tantilly experience by Samantha van Diggelen

I can hardly imagine it anymore, but there was a time, when I stood in front of my wardrobe, grabbed the top pair of jeans, the top t-shirt and the top fleece vest, and that was my outfit. Every day.

Things had changed over the years, instead of just black and grey, I also had red, pink, white and blue fleece vests.

Then came the lockdown. While scrolling through Facebook I came across a live fitting session of Tantilly. Wow how cool! Beautiful dresses, skirts, so colorful! I was in love, but oh well. That doesn't suit me of course, as a jeans person.

Still, it wouldn't let me go and I asked for information via messenger.

How kind of the ladies of the inbox! They took their time, read over my gibberish: I don't think it suits me, I don't know if I dare, but I think it's so beautiful, and more of those kinds of insecurities that all came out.

Picked out a dress together, the Sofia Trumpet dress. A purple one. With beautiful flowers. Oh dear, then I'll stand out... but hey, it's lockdown anyway, no one sees me.

The dress fit perfectly. The leggings they had chosen (because I asked, because I really didn't know) were very exciting in terms of color, so I was allowed to exchange them.

No problem! What a service! (Later I bought that color leggings anyway, and I wear them just as easily now, because it really is a beautiful combination)

After this dress came more. Dresses, Double-sided skirts, silk and cotton, all kinds of vests and tops. And every time I was in the store, or asked a question online, the same friendliness. The same service.

When you enter the physical store, the colors come to meet you, and always a friendly face, always excellent advice, great service. A cup of tea, if you stay a little longer, or a glass of water. The racks are full of colorful clothes, made by very nice craftsmen, from small family workshops in India for example. During the lockdown, Tantilly did something, which made me respect these people even more.

Where all companies were struggling to keep their heads above water, while the shops were closed, they not only kept ordering clothes, they also started distributing food parcels. In India. To the people who needed it most. In the middle of the crisis. Not busy with their own worries, but being there for someone else.

With Tantilly I found my own style.

Wearing what I like, and because it is so beautifully designed, it also looks great with a size more. My wide hips? No problem!
My not-flat stomach? No problem! The clothes fit, the clothes are comfortable, you feel valued at Tantilly, because you are valued! There are more stories like mine. From an insecure woman, to a blossoming, growing woman, with more and more self-confidence.

And that is partly due to Tantilly, and I am very happy about that!
