Guest blog: Romy from VakerVrolijk! Dotted and floral in dresses from Tantilly

Ready for a post full of colorful outfits, cheerful dresses and even more fun prints?

I was so looking forward to showing these two dresses on my blog.
Earlier I was able to unpack a surprise package from Tantilly with a big smile on my face.

When it happened again last week, a smile from ear to ear appeared again.

Flowers, dots, cheerfulness and wonderfully soft fabrics? Oh yes, these outfits are totally my thing again.

And spring-proof in terms of prints. Because if spring is not showing its best side yet, why not just bring spring into your home?

Double surprised by Tantilly

I got to know the beautiful brand Tantilly last year through my wonderfully warm winter dress.

Since then I keep a close eye on their Instagram account for their latest dresses. There are often really nice ones among them. Always in cheerful colours , with nice fabrics (just as soft as my winter dress!) and just a little bit different than other clothing brands.

All clothing is hand-sewn in small editions.

What makes me even more enthusiastic is that Tantilly is a beautiful sustainable fashion brand. All dresses are handmade in fair-fashion workshops by lovely, talented people.

For a fair wage. And always from high-quality fabrics. No fast fashion, but really high-quality dresses that you can wear with pleasure for a long time. Exactly the kind of dresses that make me happy.

But enough talk, I'll show you my two new dresses in detail.

A dress full of flowers and fluttering birds

Flowers are a common sight in my wardrobe. But this new floral addition is without a doubt one of my favorite bright clothing items. The Zoë Flower Birds Dress is one of Tantilly's fine dresses , made of a beautiful, almost velvety fabric. Really the finest fabric ever! I also absolutely love the print .

It's one of those prints that is wonderfully spring-like on the one hand, but that I can also see myself wearing at Christmas, so to speak.

The print consists of beautiful large flowers in red and white. In between flutter a few beautiful birds.

The dress has – as you probably already saw – a V-neck and a beautiful wrap. I also like the draping effect at the belly . That makes the dress different from many wrap dresses.

Oh yeah, and you don't have to deal with bows that you have to tie yourself and hope stay in place (otherwise you'll be awkwardly shielding your private areas). Luckily, I don't have that problem with this dress.

Heels out of the closet

In the absence of sunny weather, a photographer nearby and a windless day, I took the photos in my own jungle of plants. Hooray for the self-timer! I pulled out my favorite heels (which are more fun to look at than to walk in) especially for this beautiful dress.

The color matched the red flowers in the dress so well that I couldn't resist. I'm also wearing a warm cardigan over it. Thrift store bargain.

But since the dress has long sleeves, I can probably put it on outside without a cardigan. Who knows, maybe even without tights. Spring sunshine, come soon!

One last photo. Because I couldn't resist showing the print again. Seriously, I love it. The print also has something festive , I think. I can see myself wearing the dress to a party (there will definitely come a time when that will be possible again), but I can also wear something like this on a workday behind my Zoom camera.

Not that people can catch much more than a glimpse of it. But it makes me really happy.

Stipperdestip (with Pip)

On my LinkedIn profile picture, it is impossible to miss: my other (red) dress with white dots. I also had a dark blue one with large polka dots for a long time, but unfortunately that one had seen better days. And to be honest, I actually thought it was a bit too short. That is why I was a happy egg when I spotted this new blue dress with dots on the Tantilly website. And an even happier egg when I found the same dress in my mailbox. It is the Devi Dress in the color navy blue.

This dress is also made of a fabric that feels like velvet. Viscose is actually it: an artificial (and animal-friendly and more sustainable) alternative to silk. It has a mini V-neck (what do you call that?), which I find somewhat elegant. It is also an A-line dress, but I put a belt around it myself to accentuate my waist more.

90's kid in a retro dress

The dress is wonderfully striking because of the large dots. What many people have with stripes, I have with dots. The bigger, the better. I just get ultimately happy from that cheerful print. Maybe because it reminds me of the petticoats from the '60s that I secretly have a soft spot for as a 90s child.

Dress: Tantilly
Cardigan: second hand
Shoes: Double V shoes
Strap: no idea
Cat: Pippa (and definitely not for sale!) You can't see it in the picture, but the picture has sleeves that reach just below your elbows. A nice length for the summer and also great in combination with a jacket on cool spring days. The dress itself is also exactly the right length for me: just above the knee. I never like dresses that are so short that your bottom almost peeks out from underneath when you bend over. On the other hand, a dress doesn't have to reach just below the knee for me, because then I feel a bit too prissy.

Fluffy and fine

Because it was quite chilly when I took the pictures, I'm wearing my lovely fluffy teddy coat over the dress. A mega-thick thing that I found with a big smile at a King's Day stall three years ago, between the tight jeans and crazy coats. That had to be mine. It's still a jacket that I take out of the closet very often. And that other fluffy accessory with the tail? That is of course my favorite of favorites. But I have to say, these two dresses are definitely my favorites too. They fit so well and they are so cheerful! In my opinion, it immediately brings spring into the house a little bit. What is your ideal dress length? Thank you!
